Baptism Process

Interview - One month prior to the baptism: call the parish office to make an appointment. It is required that baptism Godparents be married in the Church (if a couple); bring proof of marriage at the time of registration and Confirmation certificate if single.

Preparation - First and Second Sundays at 3:00 p.m.: All parents and godparents are required to attend baptism preparation in the month prior to the baptism; even if you have more than one child. You can support other parents with your experience.

Baptism - Third and Fourth weekend: You can choose Saturday or Sunday. These are scheduled dates. There are no exceptions!

Children preparing for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist for the first time must attend faith formation classes at the parish on a regular basis one year prior to the year in which the sacrament will be received. Parents are required to attend preparation workshops with their child.

Sacramental preparation for Confirmation is a two-year process. Children are to be in religious education or faith formation classes one year prior to the year in which the sacrament is to be received.

For Catholics, the Sacrament of Marriage, or Holy Matrimony, is a public sign that one gives oneself totally to this other person. It is also a public statement about God: the loving union of husband and wife speaks of family values and also God's values.

Entrevista - Un mes antes del Bautismo:
Llame a la oficina para hacer una cita. Presente el certificado de matrimonio por la Iglesia de los padrinos o el certificado de confirmación si se es soltero(a), en la entrevista

Pláctica - Segundo domingo
Todos, los papás y padrinos tienen que asistir a la clase en el mes que van a bautizar, aún si tienen varios hijos. Pueden apoyar a otros padres de familia con su experiencia.

Bautismos - Tercer y cuarto fin de semana
Puede escoger el sábado después de la misa de 7:00 PM o el domingo después de la misa de 1:00 PM. Estas fechas y horarios son fijos. ¡No Hay excepiones!

Calificacions de padrinos
Para ser admitido a la función de Padrino, una persona debe:

Ser designado por el que se ba a bautizar, por los padres o la persona que toma su lugar o en su ausencia, por el pastor o ministro y que cumpla los requisitos y la intención de llevar a cabo esta función;
Tengan 16 años cumplidos, a menos que se ha establecido una edad diferente por el obispo diocesano o que le parezca al párroco que les debe hacer una excepción para una causa justa;
Sea católico que ha sido confirmado y ya ha recibido el Sacramento de la Santa Eucaristía y lleva una vida en armonia con la fe y la función a relizarse;
Los padrinos que son pareja esten casados en la Iglesia Católica, aún si sólo uno de ellos va a apardrinar.
No estarán obligados por cualquier pena canónica, legítimamente impuesta o declarada;
No ser el padre o la madre del bautizado.

*2. Un bautizado que pertenece a una comunidad eclesial no católicos no puede ser admitido excepto como testigo al bautismo y junto con un padrino católico.

Misión: Para ayudar a las parejas ser más conscientes de sus virtudes de relación y áreas de trabajo que se preparan para el Sacramento del matrimonio. Arreglos deben hacerse por lo menos con seis meses de anticipación para el Sacramento del matrimonio.
